Frequently Asked
Questions
What is concierge medicine?
Concierge medicine is a personalized model of primary care built around an ongoing relationship between you and your family physician. By limiting the number of patients in each practice, concierge medicine allows physicians to offer greater availability, more time per visit, and proactive, preventative care.
At Med2, this model enables us to focus on long-term health, early intervention, and thoughtful medical planning rather than episodic, reactive care.
What is the difference between the Gold and Platinum programs?
Both programs offer comprehensive, physician-led care and a strong emphasis on prevention.
Gold Program
- Physician availability during weekdays, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
- Email communication with the medical team during office hours
- Annual preventative health assessment and follow-up care
Platinum Program
- Enhanced availability, including evenings, nights, and weekends
- 24/7 physician-supported coverage for urgent medical concerns
- Dedicated contact numbers for seamless communication
- Annual preventative health assessment and ongoing care
Are laboratory tests and imaging included?
These costs are often partially or fully covered by private insurance plans, depending on your coverage.
Can Med2 coordinate my care with specialists?
Yes. Coordinated care is a core part of our model.
We work closely with specialists and allied health professionals to ensure:
- Clear communication
- Appropriate follow-up
Integration of specialist recommendations into your overall care plan
Do you offer pediatric care?
Yes. Our dedicated private pediatric clinic, MED2 Jr., provides personalized pediatric care in a modern, calm clinical setting.
More information about MED2 Jr. can be found on our Pediatric Clinic page.
Can I reach one of the physicians on the weekend or after hours?
Members of our Platinum program have the ability to contact their physician on a 24/7 basis.
Are other family members eligible for this service?
Many of our clients have enrolled their spouses, as well as their children. For more information, please contact our team.
Is there any additional charge to see specialist physicians?
The patient always has the choice as to whether they wish to consult specialists publicly or privately. Many specialist physicians referred to are on the provincial health plan; fees may be incurred when consulting in the private sector.
How is Med2 different from a traditional medical clinic?
Traditional primary care practices often manage very large patient rosters, which can limit appointment availability and continuity of care.
At Med2, we intentionally limit the number of patients we follow. This allows us to offer:
- Greater physician availability
- Longer, more comprehensive appointments
- A strong focus on prevention and wellness
- Ongoing coordination with specialists and other healthcare providers
- A dedicated care team familiar with your medical history
What does “availability” mean in practice?
Depending on your program, this may include:
What is included in the annual preventative health assessment?
Your annual preventative health assessment is a comprehensive medical evaluation designed to identify risk factors early and optimize long-term health.
It typically includes:
- Detailed review of medical and family history
- Comprehensive laboratory testing
- Physical examination
- Electrocardiogram
- Preventative screening recommendations
- Medication and vaccine review
- Personalized health plan and follow-up recommendations
Additional testing may be recommended based on individual needs.
Is concierge medicine right for me?
Concierge medicine may be a good fit if you value:
- Prompt physician availability
- Preventative, proactive healthcare
- Longer, unhurried appointments and continuity of care
- A collaborative, relationship-based medical experience
- A healthcare team that knows you well
We encourage prospective patients to speak with us to determine whether Med2 aligns with their needs and expectations.
